The death occurred at his home in North Rustico, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, of Don Gallant, beloved husband of Rose Gallant (nee Leonard), aged 76. Don was the loving father of Wade (Valerie Fillmore) and Bob (Gabrielle); grandfather of Hailee, Nathan, Chris, Emily, Lauren, AJ and Justine; and great-grandfather of Destiny and Peyton. He is also survived by his sisters, Lorna Gallant (Ellen Ridgeway) and Angela Leroy (Marvin); brothers, Father Brendon, Allen (Dorinda Harrison), Giles, Garnet and Father Floyd; sister-in-law, Nancy Gallant; and many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. Don was predeceased by his parents, Robert Earl “Earl Bob” and Bernadette (Blacquiere) Gallant; and his brother, Harvey. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a Prayer Service on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church on Monday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Stella Maris Cemetery.
