It is with heavy hearts that the children of Virginia George announce her passing at the Foothills Clinic in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, August 4, 2016. She was a treasured mother to Vicki (Paul Humber), Corner Brook, Tina (Bryan Thoreston), Calgary, AB, Laurie Ann, Corner Brook, Lourena (Greg Joyce), ON, and Dwayne (Jerri-Lynn), St. John's; grandmother to her most treasured gifts: James Humber (Andrea), PEI, Krista Herbert (Danny), Calgary, Joshua George (Brooklynn), Corner Brook, Jessica Companion, Corner Brook, Holly Humber (Rob), Corner Brook, Ashley Sheehan (Lane), Calgary, AB, Alex Sheehan (Taylor), Calgary, AB, Alana Sheehan (Tom), Calgary, AB, Haley George, St. John's, Hannah George, St. John's. Her great-grandchildren were her shining stars: Sammy, Cole, Peyton, Rachel, Blake, Luke, Maddie, Ellie, Emerson, Bennett, and Maxwell; sisters: Mary Burton, Arkansa, USA and Carol Ann (Allen), Burn, England; brother Kevin Ezekiel (Bernetta), Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; son Richard; grandson Justin; mother Mary Ezekiel (Simon) and father James Ezekiel. Cremation has taken place in Calgary, AB. In keeping with Virginia's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Country Haven Funeral Home, Corner Brook.
