Aged 72, of Portugal Cove South, passed peacefully away on August 15, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by parents William and Elizabeth Maher and sisters Maureen and Margaret (Peg). He leaves to mourn with fond memories, his wife Agg; sons Randy (Barb), Jason (Jeannine), Garfield (Jodi), Donnie (Cathy Ann), Barry (Kathy) and Melvin; precious grandchildren Ryker (whom he treasured for the past six months), Keegan and Kristen, Cameron, Chelsea, Amanda (Shane) and family, Nicole (Barry) and family. Also leaving to mourn, siblings Helen (Frank) Power, Tom (Joan), Bob (Carol), Dave (Clarice), Bill, Patricia, Paul (Sharon), brother-in-law Mike Simon, and sisters-in-law Phyllis (Andy) Wilson, Lena Finlay, and Bertha Butler, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 10 am - 4 pm with cremation to follow. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist at 2 pm. Inurnment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
