Nellie (nee Buchynski) Zalewski
November 6, 1918 – August 14, 2016
With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother Nellie Zalewski. Her precious life began on November 6, 1918 in Rama, SK. Her youthful years encompassed doing general household chores, gardening and helping with duties on the farm. She married Adolf Zalewski in 1940 and were blessed with four children. They farmed in the Cloverdale district until 1969, retired at that time and moved to Prince Albert. Her interests included knitting, crocheting, gardening and making quilts. For the past four years, Nellie was compassionately and tenderly cared for by the staff of the Herb Bassett Home. She is survived by her loving family: two daughters Sophie Olde and Marie (Rob) Temple; two sons Ed (Melanie) Zalewski and Ron (Lynne) Zalewski; six grandsons; three granddaughters; eighteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; two sisters and four sisters-in-law. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Adolf Zalewski; her parents; her brothers and sisters; her brothers and sisters-in-law; her son-in-law and a granddaughter-in-law. Private Family Service will be held. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Herb Bassett Home, 1200 – 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4N9.
