The death occurred suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, of Donald Carl Champion of Vernon MacGougan Crescent, Malpeque, aged 78 years. Born in Kensington on March 9, 1938, son of the late Lester and Mayme (MacKay) Champion. Husband of June (Price) Champion. Predeceased by his son Richard. Father of Kimberley Aziz, Kanata, ON; Kevin (Carmelita MacKenzie), Stratford; Stephen (Stacy), Margate. Grandfather of Brodie, Surraya, Matthew, Taralynn, Megan, Chloe and Carter. Brother of Wayne (Gloria) Champion, Nanaimo, BC; Eleanor (Jack) Dean, Calgary, AB; and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for a private family service in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel on Friday. No visitation by family request. Interment later in People’s Cemetery, Kensington. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
