CROUSE, Margaret Julia – age 88, of Bridgetown, formerly of Nictaux, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2016, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Millville, Codroy Valley, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Patrick B. and Mary J. (Gale) Gale. Margaret immigrated to Canada from Newfoundland, before confederation. She lived for four years in Cape Breton, later moving to the Annapolis Valley. Margaret married Randolph on December 19, 1946. She had been a Nanny and worked as a maid at The American House and also worked at Middleton Drycleaners. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Margaret is survived by daughters, Gail (the late Gary) Hellmen and children Patricia (David) and Eric (Yvonne), Cranbrook, B.C.; Carolyn (Paul) Wood and children Andrea and Alex, Lawrencetown; sons, Gary (Bonnie) Crouse, Cranbrook, B.C.; Gregg (Marcy) Gaul and children Matthew and Thomas, Port George; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Rielly, Emily, Kaden and Jessalyn; great-great granddaughter, Genevieve, who was born the day before Margaret passed away; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Randolph A. Crouse; son, Patrick Crouse; brothers, Patrick, Edward and Simon; sisters, Sophie, Theresa and Kathleen. In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 29, 2016 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902-825-3448) with Rev. Janet Baker officiating, interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Middleton. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Veterans Unit of Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
