Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. Leonard L.A. Miller Centre on August 20, 2016 at the age of 69 years. Predeceased by her husband Leonard, daughters Carol Ann and Geraldine (Nuge) Owens, son Scott Owens, sisters Patsy Burton and Elizabeth (Boop) Burton and her mother Geraldine Burton. Leaving to mourn with fond memories her children Judy Whitten (Gary), Leonard Owens (Sherry), Susie Coffey (Melvin) and Donna Stringer (Trevor), 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 sisters and 1 brother. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Palliative Care Centre. Visitation at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Cremation to follow. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Basilica of St. John Baptist on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
