We announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many, Alex Newman, who passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex after a brief illness, with his family members by his bedside, on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, one day before his 85th birthday. Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 60 years Gertrude "Trudy"; daughters: Paulette and Rhonda; sons: Jim, Geoffrey, Trevor and Tony; sister-in-law Shirley; nieces: Diane, June, Claudia and Jodi; as well as many extended family members and a large circle of friends. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road, on Friday, August 26, 2016, at 1 pm. No flowers by request.
