Carolyn Mary (Larkin) Wolfe

Carolyn Mary (Larkin) Wolfe, Truro, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2016 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre with family by her side. Born January 5, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Conrad) and Lester Larkin. She is survived by her husband Allan, sons Chris (Estelle) Truro and Shawn (Shannon), Valley, grandchildren Colby, Baley, Ashlin, Jennessa and Ethan, brothers David (Anita), Bridgewater, Michael, St. John’s and Gregory, Dartmouth. Carolyn was adopted as a baby and is survived by half-brothers, Gary (Christa), Germany, Joey, Dartmouth and William (Cheryl), Lr. Sackville, half-sisters Bonnie, Lr. Sackville and Michelle, Truro. Carolyn was pre-deceased by birth-mother Eliza “Blanche” (Collins) Deveaux, half-brothers Louis (Lillian), Philip (3 months) and half-sister Patricia (Ralph) Bahan. Carolyn started working at a young age at the Halifax Infirmary and subsequently with Berlitz School of Languages teaching English in Northern Quebec and Montreal. She was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi (Truro) sorority and the Truro Gyro Club. She was a Girl Guide and later a cub leader in Halifax and Truro for over 10 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and made a point of attending their events and accomplishments whenever possible. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved telling them her many exciting life stories and instilled fun and imagination in their lives. After husband Allan retired, they enjoyed several years camping in Eastern Canada and U.S. and winters in Florida. Cremation has taken place and at Carolyn’s request there will be no visitation or funeral as family and friends visited her during her lengthy stay in hospital. To honor her memory donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation, The Canadian Diabetes Society or a charity of your choice. A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at the Kidney Transplant Clinic at the QEII, D3 and Palliative Care Unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
