Melody Lee Ashton - 32 of Grande Prairie, Alberta. It is with great sadness that the family announces her peaceful passing with family by her side on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie. Born in Kentville, she was the daughter of Wanda (Wilson) LeBlanc, Steam Mill and Terry LeBlanc of Lakewood Road, Kings County. Before her illness she was a valued employee of Scott Land & Lease Ltd., Grande Prairie Branch Office. Melody enjoyed spending time with her boys, going for drives and shopping. Melody donated to many charities and families during their hardships at Christmas. She will be remembered for her caring and selfless nature and was always willing to help in any way she could. She is survived by her husband of three years, Stuart; two beautiful sons, Theodore and Jacob, at home; a sister, Alisha (Larry) Hazel and their sons, Nolan, Parker and Avery, London, Ontario; a brother, Nicholas LeBlanc (Liz Bekkers), Fort St. John, British Columbia; paternal grandmother, Kathleen LeBlanc, Brooklyn Street, Kings County; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Robie and Joyce Wilson; paternal grandfather, Edward LeBlanc; aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. A reception will follow at the home of Wanda LeBlanc, 1238 Highway 359, Steam Mill. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation. The family would like to thank Points West Hospice for the kindness, care and compassion given to Melody.
