NEW GLASGOW - John Joseph “Joe” Sinclair, passed away in the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Born on January 3, 1928, in Trenton, N.S., he was a son of the late Michael and Helen Beatrice (Abbott) Sinclair,
Joe was predeceased by his loving wife, Jean Ross; his three sisters, Victoria Smith, Ethel Steeves and Christine Samuels Power; one brother, Jerome; a niece, Maxine Samuels Wagner; and a nephew, Raymond Sinclair. He is survived by brothers, Walter (Heather), New Glasgow; James (Carol), Riverview, New Brunswick; nieces and nephews.
Joe was a welder by trade. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, served as an usher for many years at St. John’s Parish, volunteered at the Food Bank and enjoyed bowling when he was able. He truly appreciated the care he received both at High Crest Home and at Glen Haven Manor.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Church, 390 High Street, New Glasgow, with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family flowers only. A most fitting tribute to Joe’s memory would be to pass along a welcoming smile or render a sincere act of kindness to someone in need.
