MULLEN, Keith Eldon – Age 79, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Woodstock, Yarmouth Co. on September 3, 1936 he was the son of the late Clarence and Grace (Goudey) Mullen. Keith had a passion for driving trucks. At the age of 19, he delivered three boats by tractor-trailer to New York City. During his lifetime he drove many vehicles through the Maritimes, Ontario, Quebec and the United States. In the mid-seventies, he took over his father-in-law’s painting business, which he operated until his retirement. He was an avid fly fisherman and spent many hours fishing for trout. He enjoyed hunting and just walking in the woods as he did when he was a young boy. He loved to talk to people and tell stories about people he met and places he went. He had a lifelong hobby of making model trucks and cars, many of which he made from scratch, as well as animal wood carvings. He is survived by his wife Louise (Pothier) of 56 years; daughter Wanda Mullen (Tom Comeau), Cedar Lake; son Brian Mullen (Maureen), Hebron; grandchildren, Jennifer Mullen (Paul Pothier), Arcadia; Makayla and Isaac Mullen, Hebron; brothers, Victor Mullen (Joan), Berwick and Stanley Mullen (Doris) and a sister Doreen, both of Port Maitland, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Laurie and a sister, Doris. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, where visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday with prayers at 8:00. The funeral mass was held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 29 at Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Reception followed in the Jubilee Room at St. Ambrose Cathedral. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of your choice.
