Marion Weatherbee

Passed on: August 30th, 2016

Our hearts are broken and our lives are changed forever. We announce the passing of our dear mother, Marion Weatherbee, age 77 of Glace Bay. Marion passed away at her residence on Monday, August 30, 2016 with her loving daughters at her side. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Marion (Milley) O'Regan. Marion was a selfless wife, mother and friend. She loved to cook, bake and always looked forward to a project around the house. She lived for her family. Marion loved being a homemaker and excelled at this. Marion will be sadly missed by her children, Todd (Tammy), Ont, Kimberly (Donald), Cyndie (who lived with Mom), both of Glace Bay; brothers, Terry (Marilyn), Bobby, Darryl, Ronnie (Charlotte), Dougie; grandchildren, Paige and Ciara, New Jersey.
Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her loving husband, Clifford (1998); brother, Danny (2007) and special nephew, Robbie (1995).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Palliative Care, Dr. George Burns and Lynn Gillis for making Mom's last hours more peaceful.
The family are honouring Marion's request for no visitation. A private family service will be held with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and guidance of Curry's Glace Bay Funeral Home, 775 Main Street. Online condolences to the Weatherbee family are available through www.currysfuneralhome.com. The Angels gathered near your bed, so very close to you for they knew the pain and suffering that you were going through. I thought about so many things as I held tightly to your hand, oh, how I wished that you were strong and happy once again. But your eyes were looking homeward to that place beyond the sky where Jesus held his outstretched arms, it was time to say ‘goodbye’. I struggled with my selfish thoughts for I wanted you to stay so we could walk and talk again like we did just yesterday. But Jesus knew the answer and I knew he loved you so, so I gave to you life's greatest gift, the gift of letting go now my heart will carry memories of the love you gave to me until we meet again in Heaven, where the best is yet to be.
