Simone Degagne (Grenier)

Simone Degagne (Grenier), late of Saskatoon, SK, passed away August 29, 2016 in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 96. Mom is survived by her loving children: Doris (Grimard), Marcel (Georgina), Rita, Claire (Morash), Omer (Melva), Murielle (Robert), and Leone; her daughter-in-law Lise; as well as 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband William; her baby daughter Yvette; her son Andre; her daughter Denise; her sons-in-law Harvey Grimard and Terry Morash; her parents Archille and Yvonne Grenier; her parents-in-law Louis and Georgianna Degagne; as well as numerous members of her extend family. Mom grew up in Marcelin, SK; married William Degagne and farmed in the Marcelin area. After her husband’s untimely death in January 1955, Mom went back to school, got her teacher’s certificate and taught in Marcelin for 20 years. Upon her retirement she moved to Saskatoon. Mom will be remembered by many for The Beaulac Genealogy book that she worked endless hours on to complete. Mom’s faith carried her through many hardships. She always saw the good side of everyone. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. A Prayer Service will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 – 7:30 pm and a Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 – 11: 00 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Marcelin, SK.
