Chris Robert Olenic, age 41, of Swift Current SK, passed away at Regina General Hospital with his family by his side. The Celebration of Life service was held at 2:00 p.m. August 31, 2016 from the Palliser Pavilion with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. The Eulogist was Fadi Zanidean. The Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in his life. Chris is survived by his wife, Nasha Olenic; parents Wally and Maureen Olenic; sisters; Ory (Kerry) Aquino and their children Riley, Brianna; Darla (Dean) McGregor and their children Brooklyn and Zachary and Taylor (Stephanie) and their son Westyn Olenic and twins to come; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Betty Jean Mason; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close family friends; and his close furry friends, Buckley and Gus. Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Hedi Lewgood and Art and Vi McCabe. Chris was a member of the Kinsmen and received the bulletin editor award for the province for the Kinsmen in 2000-2001. He coached baseball and was a huge fan of the Swift Current Broncos, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was the goaltender for the Vipers ball hockey team for many years. Chris' greatest gift to all was his warm smile and kind heart. He left behind a piece of himself with all of those that he met. He will forever be missed and loved by his family and friends.
