Heather Lee (Fisk) Hayman

Heather Lee (Fisk) Hayman – 1944-2016, Belmont, passed away on September 1, 2016 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Middle Musquodoboit, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Jean (Archibald) Fisk. She is survived by sons, Stephen (Stacey), David, daughter, Kim; sisters, Peggy Hamilton (Blair), Falmouth, Sandra Fisk, Bible Hill; one granddaughter, Skye Trinity Hayman. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolland. Heather was a graduate of the Secretarial Science Diploma Course at Acadia University and was employed with the Department of Agriculture and NSAC from 1965 – 1974. Following that, she taught typing at the NSAC and later was employed with the Colchester Regional Development Agency (CORDA) until her retirement in 2004. However, she returned to the work force shortly after and was employed with the Downtown Truro Partnership. She enjoyed her work as well as gardening, picking berries, baking and sewing. Heather was an active volunteer with the Colchester East Hants Health Centre and a member of the Onslow-Belmont Pastoral Charge (Trinity United Church). No Visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 6th at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Rev. Glenn MacLean, officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery. Reception will be held in Onslow-Belmont Fire Hall, 12355 Highway 2, Lower Onslow. Family flowers only. Donations in Heather’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
