Stellarton - Jean Louis Warren, born August 30, 1952 in Val d'Espoir, Gaspe, Quebec, died with dignity and grace at the Aberdeen Hospital on Friday, September 2, 2016 with his sister Gaetane and cherished friends at his side.
He was a son, born the 13th of 18 siblings, of the late Lucien and Catherine (LeLievre) Warren. Jean Louis made Nova Scotia his home for the past 25 years.
As a skilled woodsman, he was employed with various wood contractors across Canada. Affectionately known as "the Frenchman ", he was honest to a fault, loyal and always willing to help anyone in need. He was an avid hunter, lived and loved anything outdoors. He enjoyed spending time at the camp, watching hockey, baseball and Nascar. He lived life the way he wanted and was proud of his Gaspe roots. He fondly spoke of his family and always had a story of "up home".
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother and three sisters. Locally he is survived by his constant friends, Kevin (Emily) and Kyle Macintosh. In the Gaspe and beyond, he is survived by 14 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
By his request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date in Val d'Espoir. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Condolences may be sent by visiting: www.rhporter.ca
