Elmer Larsen
Overlooking the family farm, with his family by his side, the death occurred peacefully at home of Elmer Larsen of Cape Traverse on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016, in his 82nd year. Born at home on January 29th, 1935, Elmer will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend Roma (nee Ramsay) of 56 years. He was the loving and cherished father of Donald (Monique) , Cape Traverse; David (Charlene), St. Lina, AB; Arlene (Eric) Quigley, Borden-Carleton; James (Bernadine), Cape Traverse; Janet (Blair) McQuaid, Tracadie Cross; Peter (Roberta), Kelly's Cross; Ellen (Theo) Kouwenberg, Vernon River; Lorne (Brenda), Cape Traverse; Beth (John) Lauwerijssen, Irishtown; and father-in-law to Joy, Kinkora. Mentor and grampy to Marius, Sean, Austin and Emma Larsen; Alex, Dillon, Hannah, Jack, and great granddaughter Isabel Larsen; Sarah and Laura Quigley; Joseph, Allan, Michael and Jessica Larsen; Matthew, Everett and Carter McQuaid; Taylor and Jake Larsen, Kirsten, Harry, and Anneka Kouwenberg; Robert and Justin Larsen; and Johnathan and Patrick Lauwerijssen. Caring brother of Marion Murphy (Elmer predeceased), Millvale; Cecelia (Bill) Moses, Owen Sound, ON; and Austin, Charlottetown. Survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Vera Heffell, Ottawa, ON; Eric (Joyce) Ramsay, Moncton, NB; Donald Ramsay, Summerside; John (Nellie) Ramsay, Summerside, Bill (Beulah) Ramsay, Oromocto, NB; Elizabeth (Cecil) Palmer, Borden-Carleton; George Ramsay, Borden-Carleton; Barbara O'Hollaran, Borden-Carleton, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Marius and Nellie (Heffell), brothers Carl Larsen and Jim Heffell. Peacefully resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, with visitation on Wednesday, September 7th, 2 - 4, and 7 - 9. Funeral service from the Dawson Funeral Home Thursday at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cape Traverse Church of Scotland Cemetery Fund, P.E.I. 4-H Council, or Home/Palliative Care Program of Prince County Hospital would be appreciated.
