It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Estelle “Marg” Ward on Thursday, September 8th, 2016. Marg was born in Mortlach, SK and received her education there. She married Edward “Ted” Ward on October 6th, 1948 and together they farmed and raised their 3 children in the Mortlach District. They retired to Moose Jaw, where she has resided until her passing. Marg was very special to her family and friends, and she cherished their visits. She loved to bake, knit, play bridge and scrabble, and when she wasn’t doing these, she was reading. She was predeceased by her parents, Ern and Josie (née Greggains) Durfey; husband, Ted; and brother, Fred (Hilda) Durfey. Marg will be lovingly remembered by her son, Bernie (Cheri); daughter, Nancy (Michael) Dougherty; son, Alan (Patti); grandchildren: Bret (Serena) Ward, Jared (Vadna) Ward, Nolan Dougherty, and Riley (Ashley) Dougherty; great-grandchildren: Soersce, Sigurd, Leah and Conner Ward, Logan and Emma Dougherty; as well as numerous other relatives. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 12th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Reverend Deacon Arleen Champion will officiate and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
