Gaouette, Joseph Leo Glorien “G.G.”, 79, of Salmon River, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Q.E. ll Health Science Centre, Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. Born in St. Adelphe, Champlain, Quebec, he was a son of the late Frederick and Florentine (Gagnon) Gaouette. He was a former superintendent with F.A. Tucker Ltd., for approximately 50 years, and was an affiliate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26 Truro. He is survived by his partner, Mary Atkinson, Truro Heights; daughters, Liette Reid, Collingwood, ON, Monique Pickford, St. John’s, NFLD; son, Florent Gaouette, Gander, NFLD; brothers, George and John Paul, Quebec; four grandchildren; Visitation will be held 6-8 pm, and prayer service 7pm, Sunday, September 18, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. Funeral service to be held 2 pm Monday, September 19, in the Immaculate Conception Church, Prince Street Truro, with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Interment to follow in the Truro Heights Baptist Church Cemetery in Truro Heights. Family flowers only.
