Alwyn Mae St. Cyr (nee Davies) age 82 of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away at her home in Swift Current on August 30, 2016. The Funeral Services were held in the Chapel at Warren's Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Brandon Frank and Brady Frank, her sons-in-law, Gordon Frank and Charles Lotochinski, and her nephews, Delaine Baskin and Gregor Summers. The eulogy was read by Gordon Frank. Brandon Frank read a poem and Brady Frank sang a solo. Granddaughter, Annie Lotochinski, wrote a poem which was read by Gordon Frank. Interment took place at Memory Gardens. A reception was held at St. Stephen's Anglican Church following the service where a PowerPoint presentation celebrating Mae's life was shown. Mae, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charlie St. Cyr: her two daughters: Rene (Gordon) Frank and Rhonda (Charles) Lotochinski: her three grandchildren: Brandon Frank, Brady Frank, and Annie Lotochinski: her sister, Dorothy "Dot" Summers of Calgary, AB: and several nieces and nephews. Mae was predeceased by her father, James Davies (1952); her mother, Inez Davies (nee Biggs) (1959); three brothers: Gordon Davies, James "Jim" Davies Jr., and Vernon Davies (1986); three sisters: Mildred "Mil" Howard (1988), Kathleen "Kit" Jupp, and Margaret "Peggy" Dutchak (2006): mother-in-law, Esther St. Cyr (1990) and father-in-law, Martial St. Cyr (1998): nephew, Bob Reeder (2015): and best friend, Jackie Wilson (2007). Mae was born in Swift Current on February 23, 1934. She grew up in Swift Current and remained here her entire life. She attended Elmwood School and Swift Current Collegiate Institute. Mae was very close to her brothers and sisters, especially Peggy and Dot. Mae married Charlie St. Cyr on July 17, 1954 in Swift Current. Together they raised two daughters, Rene and Rhonda. Mae was a wonderful mother. She was always there for her children. She attended the horse shows Charlie and the girls were in. Mae was very close to her mother-in-law, Esther. When her daughters got married, she treated her sons-in-law, Gordon and Charles, like her sons. Mae was a devoted grandmother and deeply loved her three grandchildren. She never missed her grandsons' baseball games and music concerts. She went to her granddaughters' music concerts and soccer games. She loved every minute she spent with her grandchildren. Mae was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family. Her holiday turkey dinners were the best. She kept an immaculate home. She had a green thumb and had many beautiful plants. Mae was beautiful inside and out. She had a beautiful soul. She was kind and gentle. She was always the one to go to for advice. She was always there to help anyone in need. She loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. She had many pets over her lifetime; some she adopted from the SPCA. Mae loved going to teas, especially the Legion teas. She was a proud member of the Legion. When Mae was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2006, Charlie became her caregiver and devoted his every moment to caring for her at home. Mae will be forever loved and deeply missed. Donations in Mae's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the S.P.C.A. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
