With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of a beloved husband, son, brother and uncle at home on Monday, September 19, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Middle Cape on May 6, 1958, Kevin was the youngest son of Anne MacInnis (MacNeil) and the late John Roddie MacInnis. He was employed as General Manager of Ski Ben Eoin for more than 30 years until the time of illness. Kevin loved the outdoors, nature and was an avid gardener. He was a great organizer and his motto was “Get’ er done”. Left to mourn Kevin’s passing is his best friend and loving wife of 31 years, Donna (Mundle); his mother, Anne and his siblings, David (Donna), Middle Cape, Nelson (Donna), Halifax, Ed (Joanne), Sydney river, Tommy (Hilda), Toronto, Billy (Elaine), Richmond Hill; sisters, Dianne, Hamilton, Judy, Mississauga and Beverly (Daren White), Amerest, NS; sister-in-law, Mary, Sydney; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Mundle and sister-in-law, Sharon (Mike MacDonald), both of Kouchibouguac, NB. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Kevin was predeceased by his brother, Joe and George; a sister in infancy; sister-in-law, Mary; his father-in-law, Keith Mundle and brother-in-law, Brian Mundle. Visitation for Kevin will be held from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, September 22 at T.W Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St. Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, September 23 at Johnstown Sacred Heart Church with Father Richard Philiposki officiating. Donations in Kevins honour may be made to Hospice C.B Palliative Care Society. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Peltekien, Dr. Molinari and the staff of the transplant team, floor 6B at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. Special thank you is being extended to Dr. D’Intino and all the staff of 4E Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Special thank you to Dr. Murdock Smith.
