Embree, Phyllis Marie, Truro passed peacefully October 3, 2016 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Collingwood, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family and the daughter of the late Roland and Clara (Nix) NcNulty. Resident of Truro for over 60 years Phyllis was a stay at home wife and mother known for her homemade donuts and lemon pie. She enjoyed her friends. Phyllis grew up in Collingwood where she received her education in a one room school house. She was a very loving and caring mother. Phyllis and Doug enjoyed their camping years especially taking their grandchildren along. Visits from her great grandchildren were always a delight. She enjoyed Parkland Estates and Cedarstone Enhanced Care where she met many new friends taking part in the Hand Bell Choir, Bingo and the music events A special thank you to the staff at both facilities for their wonderful care and assistance. She is survived by daughter, Carol (Elmer) Patton, Truro; grandchildren, Allison (Derrick) Corbett, Coldbrook, Chris Patton, B.C., Scott (Maggie) Patton, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Alec and Ainsley Corbett and her chosen daughter, Erma Conrad; several nieces. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Douglas and son, Winston; sisters, Doris and Opal. No visitation by request. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 6, at 2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Interment to follow in Bible Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
