It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, sister and grandmother, Elizabeth Louise LeMoine, age 81, on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Born in North Sydney on March 17, 1935, Louise was the daughter of the late Bridget (LeMoine) and Fred Connolly. Louise was a life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 19 in North Sydney and an avid dart player for over 40 years. Louise along with her sisters always knew where the next bingo game was. Louise was a fun loving and caring person to everyone, she lived life to the fullest and was always on the go whether it was darts, bingo or visiting family and friends. Louise is survived by her four children, Ann Steele (Carter), North Sydney, Henry LeMoine (Ronnie), New Ross, Gordon LeMoine (Kim), Halifax, Sandra Steel (Marty), Alberta; her grandchildren, Sandi MacLean (Shane), Florence, Rosanne Steele (Cory), North Sydney, Hunter LeMoine and Ethan LeMoine, Halifax to which she had a very special bond, she always called him, her little Duke. Also surviving are her four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Louise is also survived by her sisters, Lucy Horton (Cecil), Leitches Creek, Gladys Gillis, George’s River, Sandra MacKinnon, North Sydney and her brother, Bill Connolly (Heather), North Sydney; her son in-law, Glen Steele; sister-in-law, Marilyn Connolly; brother-in-law, Montford LeMoine, and many nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her son, Billy Joe LeMoine; lifelong partner, Carmen Devito; sisters, Mary Hastie, Ann Marie Connolly; brothers, Jim Connolly and Fred Connolly; brothers-in-law, Richard Gillis, Johnston Hastie, Archie MacKinnon; sister-in-law, Liz Connolly and her ex-husband, Henry LeMoine. Visitation for Louise will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
Funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney with Rev. Julio Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to
