DEVEAU, Paul Edward “Dood” – Age 78, of Tusket, passed away on October 6th, 2016 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth on April 27th, 1938, he was a son of the late Frank and Beatrice (Atkins) Deveau. Dood was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61, Yarmouth for 50 years. He was life time member of the K of C, Council 2181, Yarmouth. He was also a veteran of the Yarmouth Fire Department. Dood was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Deveau; children, Lisa (Robert) McKay, Greenville; Mark Deveau, Tusket; Scott (Peggy) Deveau, Upper Wedgeport; grandchildren, Paul Dulong, Jennifer Dulong, Jared McKay, Cory McKay, Shane Deveau and Brea Deveau; great-grandchild, Josh Deveau, step granddaughter Macey Smith and step great-grandchildren, Jordyn Smith and Rorie Smith. He was predeceased by his siblings, Amos, Frank “Bruddy”, Lenore, Frances, Ralph, Burton, James “Jimmy”, Joan and Emily. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, October 10th, with a Royal Canadian Legion Service at 7:30 p.m. and prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolennars officiating, An interment will follow in Our Lady of Cavalry Cemetery, Yarmouth. Donations in memory of Dood may be made to the Hope Building Fund, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 or a charity of ones choice.
