NICHOLS, Roy Albion – age 65, of Aylesford, N.S., passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Born on April 9, 1951 in Berwick, N.S., he was the son of Alice (Roberts) and the late Whitney Nichols. Roy, at the time of his passing, was a co-owner and the president of Commercial Safety College, Masstown, N.S. He was a loving and caring son, husband, and father. Roy was a Christian man and is now present with his Lord and Saviour. Roy will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his wife of thirty-seven years, Janet (Trites); his daughter, Christie and her husband, Frederick Paquet, Kentville, N.S.; his son, Jeremy and his wife, Robyn Amos, Bedford, N.S.; and his son, Jeffrey, Halifax, N.S. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother, Alice Nichols, Aylesford, N.S.; and his brother, Robert Nichols and his wife, Sandra, Port Williams, N.S., and their family. Roy was predeceased by his father, Whitney Nichols, and Janet’s parents, Glendon and Ruby Trites. There was a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., Middleton, N.S., toll free 1 (855) 825-3448. The funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the Kingston United Baptist Church, 695 Main St., Kingston, N.S., with Rev. Douglas Porter officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Interment in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
