POTHIER, “Betty” Marie Elizabeth – Age 78 of Wedgeport passed away on October 7th, 2016 at The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, with family and her Meadows family by her side. Born on November 4th, 1937, Betty was a daughter of the late Emile Comeau and Evelyn Pothier (stepfather Gordon Pothier). She loved, being with family and friends, bingo, cards, bowling, fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. She loved wildlife and her pets. Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Doris (Benjamin) Bain; sister, Beulah (Carl) Fenten; brother, Hubert (Joyce) Comeau; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Comeau, Helene Kolterman, Yvonne Johnson, Frances (Armand) Cathro, Dorothy (Roger) Poulin, Diane (Edward) Pettula; brothers-in-law, Michael (Ann) Pothier, George Jr. (Nicole) Pothier, and Thomas Pothier; many nieces and nephews and special friend Charles Cann. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Pothier; brother, Victor Comeau; sister in infancy Doris Comeau. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. A visitation was held on Wednesday, October 12th from 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home in Wedgeport with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass was held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Msgr. Gerald Leblanc officiated. An interment was held in the parish cemetery following the service. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Alzheimer’s Society, Nova Scotia Diabetes Association, Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, and Arthritis Association of Nova Scotia.
