It is with saddened hearts the family announce the passing of Helen Bogle on October 14, 2016 in MacLeod House, Hilden. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Born in Forest Glen, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Jean (Belmore) Stevens. Helen was a very positive, loving and outgoing person who enjoyed music, gardening, sewing, cooking, dancing and playing cards. She loved the great outdoors especially their property in Castlereagh. Helen worked as an RN for many years and then after raising her children, she worked at the Stewiacke Pharmacy. She was a volunteer Sunday School Teacher at St. Andrew’s United Church in Stewiacke. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lloyd, Stewiacke; daughter, Valerie (Michael) Brousseau, Lower Sackville; sons, Dale (Wanda), Antigonish, Terry, Gay’s River; brothers, Roland and Donald (Bonnie); grandchildren, Melissa (Tony) Quinn, Katie Bogle, Kerri Bogle, Darren Bogle, Kaylee Brousseau; great grandchild, Bristol Quinn. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Aubrey, Arnold; sister, Ruth “Judy” Wallace. Special thanks to Donna and staff at MacLeod House for their continuous care and support of our Mom. Cremation has taken place. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16 from 2-4 pm with a celebration of life service at 2 pm on Monday, October 17, all at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Gary Burrill officiating. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
