John “Alton” Andrews
The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Monday, October 17, 2016, of Alton Andrews, beloved husband of Marlene Andrews (nee Kitson), of Ebenezer, aged 75. Alton was the loving father of Brenda Bernard (Kenny) and Elaine Fleming (John); and grandfather of Kendra and Chantal Bernard. He is survived by his brothers, Walter (Louise) and Wayne (Olive); sister, Joyce Coles (Clayton); sisters-in-law, Glenda Frizzell (Vernon), Della Green and Paulette Waddell (David); brother-in-law, Roger Kitson (Donna); mother-in-law, Eleanor Kitson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Alton was predeceased by his parents, Malcolm and Jessie (Enman) Andrews, and his father-in-law, Norris Kitson. Alton had a long career as a trucker, and traveled to every mainland state and every Canadian province. On the road he was known as “Riverboat”. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
