It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael (Mike) LeDrew announce his sudden passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John's on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife of 16 years, Olive; daughter Sandy (Rick); sons: Curtis (Lynette) and Michael; grandsons: Matthew and Cory; step children: Rodney (Julie), Natasha (Clint), Peter (Wendy); step grandchildren: Kelsie, Austin, Victoria, Megan, Colby and Kylie and his furry friend Mocha; brothers: Bill (Edith), Gus (Shirley), Gerry (Nete), Paul (Joan), Leonard (Judy) and Joe; sister Grace (Rufus Drake); father in law Llewlyn Neil (Barbara), brothers in law: Wayne (Trudy) and Bob (Karen); sisters in law: Evelyn (Ed), Beatrice (Larry) and Eileen; step sisters in law: Faye and Ferne; step brother in law Joe (Zella), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents Rexford "Tony" and Helen (nee Taaffe); brother John; mother in law Vivian and brother in law Gerald. Mike was a devoted family man who enjoyed playing darts, watching hockey and baseball. He dedicated numerous hours of his time with the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and The Christmas Kettle Drive. He also supported the Shriners for a number of years. He was a gentle, kind man who will be missed by all whose lives he touched. In keeping with Michael's wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel on Clarence St. with Major Frank Johnson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted to the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.
