Formally of Silver Fox Island, Bonavista Bay passed away peacefully on the morning of October 18, 2016, Jacob Harrison Button age 87 years. Predeceased by his infant son Andrew. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Olive; children: Linda Laite (Stan), Elizabeth (Weldon), Lloyd (Shirley), Rex (Deborah) and Gordon Button (Karen); grandchildren: Julia, Sarah, Bronwen, Laura, Myra, Andrew, David, Katherine and Heather; great grandchildren: River, Hayden, Sylvia, Caroline, Owen, Tosh and Finn; brother Chesley; sisters: Audrey, Jane and Pricilla. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of other family and friends. Special thank you to the nursing staff and doctors of the Health Science Centre, 5 South A, for the care and compassion they showed our family at such a difficult time. Visitations will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, October 19 from 7pm-9pm and Thursday, October 20 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will take place at Barrett's Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 21 at 11am. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In Lieu of flowers donations in Jacob's name may be made to the Parkinson Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
