Edna Broeska (nee Bradford)
Edna Broeska passed away at age 86 on October 17, 2016. Edna was born on September 12, 1930 in North Battleford, SK. She was raised in BC and attended high school in Summerland, BC. She joined the Air Force, and met and married Raymond while he was stationed in Summerside, PEI, and they started their family. They were stationed in Cold Lake, AB and then 4 years in France, eventually settling in Moose Jaw with 5 children. Edna was involved in Cubs and Scouts, South Hill Community Assc., T.O.P.S, and was very involved with the CWL and Church of Our Lady, as well as working as a clerk typist at Social Services part-time. In later years she babysat and continued to learn the violin. She had a strong involvement with the community and was loved by all. Edna was predeceased by her parents Robert and Hilda, brother Arthur, sisters Evelyn and Phyllis, 3 grandchildren and her husband Raymond. Edna is survived by her sister Ina, brother Maynard (Jean); her daughter Diana (Ozzie) Lien, her sons Dan (Glenda), Alan (Carol), John (Joanne) and William (Kathy); grandchildren Danny, Rhonda, Byron and Dillon, as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare in Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK S4P 2R3, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 26-1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw, SK. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK with Father Joaquin Ibay presiding.
