It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend, Jimmy Ford, 57, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at home.
Born March 3, 1959, he was the son of the late George Stanley and Mary Pearl (Robinson) Ford. Jimmy was well known for doing odd jobs and yard work for anyone who needed it. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and baseball. Jimmy is survived by his three brothers, William “Billy” (Wanda) Ford of Sydney Mines, Freddie (Susan) Ford of Florence, Gordie (Lisa) Ford of Georges River; by his sister, Patsy (Charlie) Taylor of Sydney Mines; sister-in-law, Tonya Ford and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, George “Herbie” Ford and infant brother, William Henry, by his sister, Susan Devoe; brother-in-law, Gary Devoe. Visitation for family and close friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
