Passed peacefully away at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 28, 2016 Captain Raymond Burton Berkshire of Arnold's Cove, formerly Spencer's Cove, aged 79 years. Predeceased by his parents Captain Clem and Annie, and brothers Allan and David. Left with loving memories are his wife of 55 years, Alma, his sons Terry (Pauline), Glenn (Gladys), sisters Joyce Wareham, Bertha Williams, Barbara James, and grandchildren Melissa, Daniel, Abbigail and Malcolm. Also left with loving memories is a large circle of extended family and friends. Widely known and respected, not only in the local area of Placentia Bay, but also provincially and in the Atlantic region. He will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and dedication to his family and to those he so dutifully served in his work. Special thanks to the employees of Hilltop Manor and G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will take place at Fewer's Funeral Home in Arnold's Cove on Sunday, October 30th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM and on Monday, October 31st from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral will take place on Tuesday, November 1st at 2 PM from First United Church, Arnold's Cove with interment at Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. Donations in his memory may be made to the First United Church of Arnold's Cove.
