Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the Health Science Centre on Friday, October 28th, 2016, Mary Margaret Whelan of Colliers - age 94 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence; grandson Sean; granddaughter Colleen; daughters-in-law: Mena and Kay; parents: Thomas and Anastasia Moriarity; brothers: Thomas, Cyril, James and Michael; sisters: Ann, Alice, Dorothy, Joan, Theresa and Nora. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories six sons: James (Mena, deceased), Thomas (Kay, deceased), Lawrence (Marg), Cyril (Shirley), Marty (Sharon), and Gary (with whom she resided); one daughter Agnes (Michael Cleary); brother Pad Moriarity; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff on 4 South A at HSC; and special thanks to Dr. Russell Lake, Carol Ann Lake, and the staff of Avondale Medical Clinic for their dedicated years of medical service. Also, thanks to her homecare workers over the years, Elizabeth, Patsy and Marlene. Mom was very lucky to have you in her life. Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation to take place on Sunday, October 30th from 2-9 pm and Monday, October 31st from 12-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Colliers, on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016, at 10:30 am.
