Passed peacefully away at Presentation Convent, Cathedral Square, St. John's on Sunday, October 30, 2016, in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her parents Cecilia and James Wakeham of Petite Forte, Placentia Bay; her brothers Thomas (Ellen), Vincent (Lillian), Paul (Kathleen), Howard (Almena); her sisters Marie (George) Adams, Maude, Margaret (Allen) Hayden, and Winnie (John) Powers. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are her brothers James (Mary dec.) and Fred (Mel), her devoted nieces and nephews and their families, relatives, friends and the Presentation Sisters. Sister Lillian is resting at Presentation Motherhouse, Cathedral Square, St. John's. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 31st from 7-9 p.m.; Tuesday, November 1st from 10-12, 2-4, and 7-9, with a Vigil Service at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Wednesday, November 2nd at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Presentation Cemetery, Cathedral Square.
