Marguerite Woodley

Passed on: October 30th, 2016

Marguerite Louise Woodley (née Meadows), born August 6th, 1931 in Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, October 30th, 2016. She grew up on a farm near Stelcam, SK and she attended Business College in Regina, SK. Marguerite married Marvin Woodley and they farmed in the Briercrest/Drinkwater areas for 40 years. They started wintering in Arizona in 1973. After Dad’s passing in 1995, Mom continued travelling south until April of this year. She loved to cook and bake, always making sure we were all well fed. You never left her place hungry. Her family was #1, of course, and she always supported her grandchildren’s activities and was very proud of all of us. She loved curling in the early years, but her passion was on the golf course at Apache Wells. Marguerite loved to dance, golf, garden, and socialize with her best friend Norm. Until very recently, she was planning on returning to see her many friends in Mesa. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin, parents, Bart and May Meadows; special in-laws, Leona and Gordon Woodley; brothers-in-law: Cal Mitchell, Mike Pawelchak, Bill Jones, and Don Woodley; and sister-in-law, June Woodley. Marguerite will be lovingly remembered by her children: Carol (Frank) Topp, Brian (Brenda) Woodley, and Brenda (Don) Loveridge; grandchildren: Chad (Erika) Topp and their children Brynn, Easlynn and Adelynn, Lisa (Juan) Manirquez and their children Sofia and Olivia, Chris (Candace) Woodley and their children Skylee and Colton, Brad (Rhea) Woodley and his children Adyia, Ashton and Justice, Brandon (Janelle) Loveridge and their child Emberley, and Chelsea Loveridge; sisters: Joyce Mitchell, Marleen Jones, Doreen Meadows, and Joan Campbell; and very special friend, Norm Case. We would like to thank the Palliative Care team that took such great care of our Mom. It is greatly appreciated. In keeping with Marguerite's wishes, a Private Family Service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Marguerite’s name may be made to the Five Hills Palliative Care Program c/o Five Hills Health Region, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
