Edith Lundrigan

Mrs. Edith E. Lundrigan passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Mrs. Lundrigan, who was in her 93rd year, was a proud War Bride and Loyal British Subject. She came to Newfoundland in April 1949 and settled in Upper Island Cove where she raised a family of six children. She enjoyed living in Newfoundland and had a strong bond with her native England. Mrs. Lundrigan played an active role in her community, in particular a long time member of the Public Library Board as well as the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was also a frequent guest at local schools speaking on issues related to Remembrance Day. Mrs. Lundrigan is survived by her children; Sid (Ivy) Lundrigan, Robert (Bernice) Lundrigan, Philip Lundrigan, Mavis (Wesley) Lundrigan-Mitchell and Boyd (Nancy) Lundrigan, Grandchildren; Craig (Sherry) Lundrigan, Trevor (Peggy) Eveleigh, Colin (Nancy) Lundrigan, Keith (Kristie) Lundrigan, Jennifer (Brendan) Lundrigan, Christopher (Katie) Squires, Stephanie (Brandon) Lundrigan, Adrienne (Matt) Squires, Angela (Daniel) Lundrigan and Andrew Lundrigan, Great grandchildren; Tyler, Tyson, Kaitlyn, Colleen, Brooke, Daniel, Patrick, Jordon, Jaxon, Fiona and Lexie; along with a large circle of family and friends both in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as in England. Predeceased by her husband William Lundrigan and daughter Jean Eveliegh, parents Alfred and Annie-Louisa England as well as Brothers Alfred (Winifred) England, Sidney England, Harry (Faith) England and Sister Lillian (Fred) Bakewell. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, November 4, 2016 from St. Peter's Anglican Church & Cemetery, Upper Island Cove. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, CRANES ROAD, UPPER ISLAND COVE, on Thursday: 10:30 A.M. - 9 P.M. and Friday 10:30 A.M. - 1:15 P.M. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her loving memory to the Kidney Foundation.
