Mom (83) left us unexpectedly on Monday, November 7th, 2016, as only she would choose, shortly after preparing a batch of muffins for the oven.
Proud graduate of Saint Anne’s High School in Glace Bay and Normal College (NSTC) in Truro, Mom taught for many years in Glace Bay and East Bay. Matriarch of her clan and caregiver to those in need; lovingly referred to as ‘Mrs. Marie’ by many of the next generation of East Bayers. Her stove was always on, biscuits, muffins and fudge a plenty. Visitors were always welcome and never left hungry. Survived by her girls, Bernadette and Marie, their husbands, Sander Taylor and Wayne Fennell, all of East Bay; the lights of her life, grandchildren, Liam, St. John’s, NF and Meghan (Arthur Morrison), Bedford, NS; her brother, Michael MacIntyre, also of East Bay and a large extended family. Predeceased by her husband and soulmate, Dannie; parents, Alex and Chris MacIntyre; her brother, Donnie MacIntyre, Hamilton, ON. Visitation will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Friday, November 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay on Saturday at 1 p.m., Rev. Frank Abbass officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
