Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre, on Nov 8, 2016, Marion Scanlon, R.N. United in heaven with her Lebanese parents Joseph and Martha Basha; Aunt Victoria Carbage of Bell Island. Left to celebrate her life are her loving and devoted husband Joe of 47 years; four children: Jennifer Berlin (Derek), Christa-Jo Branton (Dean), Mary Ann and Joseph; four precious grandchildren: Ella and Marya Berlin, Nicholas and Maxwell Branton; siblings: loving sister Cecilia Kent, Bell Island, special brother Vincent (Mary) Basha, Portugal Cove, and their families including Allison Basha; in-laws: John and Effie Scanlon, Bartlett's Harbour, Susannah Thyne, Nova Scotia, Rita Offrey, Corner Brook, and their families; best friend Cathy Breen, friend and cousin Lillian Moakler, loyal neighbour Blanca Skoda, and cherished nursing classmates (Class of 1966, St. Clare's). Marion's legacy includes her family which was her greatest love; her gift of music (piano and singing) that she shared with many including the Palliative Care Unit, Veterans Pavilion and St. Clare's Christmas staff dinners; her avid devotion to the Infant Jesus of Prague, and her profession as a health care provider for 45 years serving those through Employee and Family Assistance Programs. Marion's heart and soul were devoted to helping others. Cremation has taken place with inurnment at a later date. There will be a Mass in memory of Marion on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Miller Centre, in honour of the compassionate and professional care provided by staff. Condolences may be forwarded to Caul's Funeral Home website (www.cauls.ca). Kindness is a gift that cannot be measured. In keeping with Marion's wishes and to celebrate her beautiful life, it is her wish for family, friends and those she touched with her kindness to do a good deed or help someone in need.
