After a brief illness, the death occurred peacefully at the Colville Manor in Souris, PEI on Saturday, November 5, 2016, of Garnet Godfrey of Bay Fortune, in his 100th year. Beloved husband of the late Thelma (Jackson) Godfrey. Loving father of Paul (Marion, nee McInnis) and Wayne (Maureen, nee Mullally) Godfrey. Grandfather of Adam, Thomas and Lee Godfrey. Great grandfather of Eliza Fey, Adeline Joy 'AJ' and Fergus 'Gus' Ian Garnet Godfrey. Survived by sisters Muriel Taylor, Connie MacKenzie, Shirley Sonnenberg; sister-in-law Colleen Jackson and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Jack and Ida ( Sears) Godfrey; parents-in-law George and Jean (Howlett) Jackson; brother Aubrey and his wife Frances; sister Dorothy Godfrey; brothers-in-law Austin Taylor, Max Sonnenberg and Emerson Jackson. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visiting hours on Monday, November 14, 2016, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Dingwell Funeral Home for funeral service at 2 p.m. Private interment at a later date at Bay Fortune United Church Cemetery.
