Lucienne Marie-Jeanne (Rohmer) Gentile was born in Montreal, QC, on October 19, 1927. She married Norman Gentile on October 13, 1954. Many will remember Rohmer’s Bakery on Charlotte St. in Sydney where Lucie spent many of her young years. Others will remember her ready help and warm smile at The Cape Breton School of Crafts where she taught knitting for some time. On June 30, 1970, Lucie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed sharing her faith with others and especially her hope of the resurrection. Lucie was predeceased by her brother, Jim (Marylin). She is survived by her husband, Norman; her sister, Renee Crawford; her three children, Blair (Lisa), Lorraine (Peter Millburn) and Marcel (Alexa) and her four grandchildren, Jillian (Paul) Donovan, Matthew, Jenna and Samantha. The family would like to thank the staff at Harbourstone Enhanced Care for their loving attention to Lucie.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at 2:30 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 257 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS, B1A 4W3. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
