CAROL ANN GEIGER (née Drescher)
Carol Ann Geiger, aged 62 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Friday, November 11th, 2016 after a long fought battle with dementia. Carol married Dwain Geiger on November 23rd, 1973 and they were just shy of celebrating their 43rd anniversary together. She was born on June 20th, 1954. Dwain and Carol lived in various places: Winnipeg, Weyburn, Oungre, Eckville and Moose Jaw. She worked for Dr. Konotopetz as a Dental Assistant in Weyburn, SK. Carol resided in Oungre, SK where she established a close group of friends, and served as director at Oungre Memorial Regional Park for 3 years. Carol and Dwain then retired to Moose Jaw. She was passionate about running, quilting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, Jerome (Harry) Drescher; mother, Rose Drescher (née Glasser); sister, Dolores Drescher; and father-in-law, Gregory Geiger. Carol will be sadly missed by the love of her life, husband Dwain; son, Phillip (Scarlett) Geiger, daughter, Arla (Jeff) Parr; grandchildren: Rylan, Kellyn and Sophie Geiger, Bailey and Mitchell Parr; sister, Diane (Doug) Bender; brother-in-law, Glen (Kaye) Geiger; mother-in-law, Maude Geiger; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many close friends. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers in Guardian Grove and St. Anthony’s units at Providence Place. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18th, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A private family interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Carol’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, 301 - 2550 – 12th Ave, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
