It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alice Barnes announce her passing on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: sons: Glen (Joy), Greg (Marlene), Wayne (Verna) and Brad (Lisa); daughters: Joan (Doug Bennett), Peggy (Lloyd Goodine) and Gail (Benvie Paul); daughter in law Kelly Vincent; 12 Grandchildren: Cory (Marsha), Leanne (Derek Greene), Jeffrey (Ruby), Steven (Amanda), Tina (Simon Carter), Robin (Wayne Hynes), Samantha (Tyler Toope), Shauna (Steve Barrow), Shania, Andrea (Clinton Shiwak), Amy and Sheldon; 19 Great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Donahue, Hilda Gillam and Marie Rolfe; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Murdock Barnes, 1995; son Joe (Bo) Barnes, 2016, special friend George Bryne, 2016; parents James and Gertrude Donahue, sister Carmelita Greene and brother Kevin Donahue. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Majors Edward and Leuanne Barrow officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, Chemo Unit.
