Hubert 'Junior' Poirier

Sadly we announce the passing of Hubert ‘Junior’ Poirier on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Sydney, Hubert was the son of the late Malcolm and Viola (Bona) Poirier. He was a 35 year employee of CN Railway and, until the end of 2015, enjoyed greeting early-risers when he delivered their Cape Breton Post.
Left to mourn his passing are, his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon; son, Craig (Connie) and his beloved grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Ian, Ryan and Elaine (Corey). Junior will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, Howie (Colleen) Noseworthy; sister-in-law, Valerie (Kenny) Keller; nephews and nieces, Derek, Deborah, Natalie, Dwayne and Jonathan and their families; cousin, Emily and close friends. Besides his parents, Junior was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Kaye and Cal Noseworthy. Funeral service for Hubert will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, with Fr. Paul MacGillivray officiating. Donations in Hubert's memory are gratefully accepted for the Cape Breton Palliative Care Society or charity of one's choice.
