Sylvia was born on October 29, 1936 in Swift Current, Sk. She married Wilfred Pribyl on October 28, 1955 in Swift Current. Sylvia worked as a telephone operator before her family began. She was a homemaker for many years while her children attended school until they all graduated. She then became a sales clerk/stock person at Zellers in Swift Current, Sk. Sylvia was a member of Grace United Church, which recently closed, so she began attending First United Church. She was also a member of the Cantuar Community Club and the Cantuar Busy Bee Club which she still attended meetings until her passing. Sylvia was a sports enthusiast, especially curling. During winter months, family had to work around her curling schedule to visit or take her out as she watched every event shown on T.V. She also enjoyed watching Toronto Blue Jays games as well as Saskatchewan Rough Riders. Until her passing, Sylvia always recorded scores and notes in her notebook for all these sports and when asked why, her reply was so no one could argue with her. She also enjoyed to entertain family and friends whenever possible. It was impossible to stop in for a few mins because she would always ask, "What's your hurry?" She would be quick to offer a drink, a meal or a place to spend the night. She loved company. She also enjoyed playing cards with whoever would play but she had a "special group of friends", who would take turns hosting card night. Sylvia was very appreciative of everyone who gave her rides or picked her up for various outings, you never had to ask her twice to go somewhere. In Sylvia's memory, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cantuar Community Hall. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
