Betty Lou Pearce, age 83, of Abbey SK passed away November 22, 2016 at Swift Current SK. Betty is survived by her husband, Roy Pearce; children, Joyce Pearce, Ellen (Kevin) Hoard and Wesley Pearce; grandchildren, Wade Pearce, Scott (Sarah) Hoard, Shannon (Matt) Pendle, Lee (Amanda) Pearce, Chantel (Nick) Pearce and Chelby (Thomas) Pearce; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Darcy (Diane) Brown; sisters, Edith Todd and Lavina (Tony) Fraess; sisters-in-law, Audrey Jorgenson, Norma Brown and Marjorie Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Mabel Brown; brothers, John Brown, Pat Brown, Mike Brown and George Brown; sisters, Mary Mead and Sarah Line; brothers-in-law, Clifford Mead, Percy Line, Dick Todd, Victor Pearce, David Pearce, Kenneth Pearce, Ronald Pearce, Reid Bowman and Lester Jorgenson; and sisters-in-law, Stevie Brown, Olive Bowman and Margaret Pearce. Betty grew up on the farm at Verlo, SK, and attended the Verlo school. She was a home maker all her life and spent her time raising her 3 children. Betty had many interests, including working with Girl Guides, the UCW, the Legion Auxiliary and 50 Plus. She loved nature and animals, especially horses and dogs. She loved watching for the different birds that would come each year to her feeders and bird bath. She loved camping and spent many summers at Lemsford Park and travelling with their motorhome. She was a devoted Grandma and loved spending time and special occasions with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed many hours of quilting with the ladies in Abbey. Betty was very community minded and volunteered for every task that came her way. She's now our guardian angel and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Betty's life will take place on April 15, 2017 at Abbey ABC Centre.
