Halifax - It is with sadness we must announce the passing of our mother Frances, she was 85. She passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 24th 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Born in St. John, New Brunswick she was the daughter of the late Fred and Doris Oram.
She had been a resident of the Berkley (Gladstone) having moved to Halifax from New Glasgow in 2013. She was a long time member of St George’s Church New Glasgow and an active member in Ceilidh Chapter #10 order of Eastern Star, past matron having held many other offices and serving as treasurer right up until she moved to Halifax.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald.
She is survived by sons, Ian (Darlene) Duncan Halifax; Gregory (Kim) Duncan Halifax; daughter Lynn (Hank) Sheppard Nerepis NB; grandchildren: Ryan Duncan, Hannah and Danielle Duncan; Sandi Lubeck and Melissa Morrell; great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Kaileigh, Kaia and Tashina; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is December 1st from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, 256 King St New Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11am from St. George’s Anglican Church with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating.
A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Frances may be made to St George’s Anglican Church, the Estral Fund of the Eastern Star or charity of one’s choice.
