Margaret Susan Bland

Margaret Susan Bland age 89 of Amherst passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Northumberland Hall in Amherst surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Detroit, Michigan she was a daughter of the late George and Elsie (Mills) Trask. Margaret was a Registered Nurse and worked at Highland View Regional Hospital for many years. She was a member of the United Church of Canada and enjoyed being active with the UCW. The community was important to Margaret and took great pride in volunteering for the Amherst Food Bank, VON Meals on Wheels as well as the IODE.
In her spare time she loved to travel with her husband, David (Buddy),bird feeding, flowers, knitting and making crafts for her family and friends.
Her most enjoyable time was spent with her family, especially her husband of 67 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Buddy; children, David G., Susan (Brian) Atkins and Carolyn (Bob) Doucet all of Moncton, NB; sisters, Jeannie and Muriel both of Parrsboro; brother, Charlie (Barbara) Trask, Parrsboro; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her sisters and brothers.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m. from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906 with K. Ruth Gamble, DLM presiding. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
A special thank you to all the staff of Northumberland Hall for the loving care and compassion shown to our Mom and our Dad throughout the last several years and you will be remembered in our hearts forever.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
