Florence ‘Marie’ Theriault, 75, of Sydney River passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Friday, December 2, 2016. Born and raised in Point Aconi, she was a daughter of the late Rod and Florence Beaton.
Marie was a soft spoken and gentle soul, who enjoyed absolutely everything. She was a fabulous homemaker and a caring, loving mother, who raised four wonderful children. After raising her children, Marie enjoyed 10 years working for Walmart. She leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Gerald; daughters, Edith (Gord) Skinner, Halifax and Helen (Justin) Theriault, Calgary, AB; sons, Ernest, Bermuda and Michael, Montreal; grandsons, Brett and Ryan Skinner; granddaughter, Lily Theriault; sisters, Theresa (Ed), Serroul, North Sydney, Margie Sheppard, Edmonton, AB, Marlene, Dartmouth, Maureen and Rose both of Ontario; brother, Sammy, ON; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Anne Louise, Mary Julie, John, Brad and Kaye. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River. Rev. Duaine Devereaux will officiate. Special thanks to Dr. Greg Myatt and Janice for the many years of wonderful care that they provided to Marie.
